This stately NE Portland foursquare had great bones—and even greater potential.
Over the course of five years, S. Baird Design partnered with the homeowners to gently transform the space, beginning with interior finishes, continuing through a basement remodel, and culminating in a thoughtful kitchen update.
The guiding vision: a clean, calming aesthetic that honors the home’s traditional architecture while introducing a fresh, modern ease.
A white palette unifies the expansive main floor, creating flow and lightness, while wallpapered feature walls and unexpected bursts of color—in the children’s rooms and on the front door—add just the right amount of personality.
The result is a timeless family home, grounded in character yet elevated with intentional design and a quiet sense of joy.
